I have…been asked this…so many times. When I first made EB back in 2001, I didn’t give them necks. I thought it would be funny if I could just swap my character’s heads. I saw a lot of possible comedic angles I could work, and then they didn’t get necks. That’s how it all started, and well, it evolved into the style. Besides I think it’s a great gimmick. Earth Beta will always be known as “that comic with no necks.”

Where did you’re characters come from?

My vagina? I didn’t model them after anyone. To really understand where they came from, I think the best person who sums it up would be Elizabeth Gilbert. I didn’t invent the characters. They invented themselves and tell me what the fuck to do. They’re very demanding.

She’s very inspiring and it’s really awesome to listen to her.(For creative minds only please)

Can you draw me in the comic?!

As a matter of a fact, I CAN!!!! Let me throw something down for you real quick. Why yes, it IS a picture of me giving you the middle finger. Is that not what you look like? Seriously? When will there be Earth Beta Merchandise?

Very Very Very soon. I’m working on a whole merchandise line, and hopefully books coming soon. I know for sure, I should be having posters very soon. If you have any suggestions or ideas, feel free to e-mail me.

Why are your comics listed as “seasons” instead of “chapters,” are you stupid?

Well…ah…ha…I’m not stupid, I’m special. I list everything as seasons instead of chapters because I see Earth Beta as a show. An awesome cartoon show. God, I wish it was because writing for it would be soooo much easier and my jokes would come off a lot better. I label them so I can live my delusional fantasy.

What ever happened to sharpie?

Sharpie? What’s sharpie?! I never made a black and white comic that violated and offended everyone! But man was it funny. I always think about bringing it back, and maybe some time I will. But as for now, Earth Beta GO GO GO!!

How do you make comics?!

Can I use your art style or your characters?

I’ve been seriously asked multiple times if people could use my style of drawing. I say go for it. If you want to draw in my style have fun, but send me a link. I want to check it out! Now my characters on the other hand…please no touching. NO TOUCHING!

Can you link me, pretty please?

I spend at least 10 hours a day working on Earth Beta and there are some days where I work for 20 something hours straight. Do you have a sprite comic that takes you like 30 minutes to make? Yeah…there’s no way I’m going to link you. I’m open to linking, so go ahead and send it to me. But I hope to god you’re good. I work really hard on all this stuff, and if I see that in what ever you send, I’d gladly link you. I’m not an advocate for handing out participation trophies and not keeping score. So if you want me to link you, please please please don’t send me something that’s garbage. I’ll give you a real shot, and if I like your stuff then I’ll link you.

How’d you get started with your web comic?

I never meant to get into web comics…seriously. I never thought, oh hey I should do web comics. Here’s the real story, my friend Che made a comic using Adobe Illustrator. He just got done reading Real Life Comics and he thought I’d be fun to make a few comics. So he made like twenty, and called it A Veggie Life. It was pretty funny, and so my friend Keeton took it to the next level. My collective of friends, which was like 12 of us at the time(we called ourselves the Sci-Fi Knights…and we got bigger), we had our own forums. Seriously, we had are own forums and friggen site. Keeton’s next step was he had all of us make comics. We all started making shitty comics and posted them on the site, and we all got a good laugh. If there’s one thing in the world I love, it’s to make people laugh. So I kept going…and then I got a site.

I’ve always done Earth Beta as a hobby. It’s always been something fun to do. I’ve always strived to be original and funny. Right now, I’m working like hell to make EB awesome…or else EB is finished. Heheheheh Circle of life for that question.
